When should you see a psychiatrist?
You don't have to wait until things get really bad to seek psychiatric help. It is worth seeking help if:
- you have been feeling sad, depressed or anxious for a long time,
 - you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks,
 - you have difficulty concentrating, sleeping or motivating yourself,
 - you have thoughts of giving up or suicide,
 - you are experiencing trauma, loss, divorce or another difficult life situation,
 - you feel professionally or emotionally burnt out,
 - you are unable to cope with stress or relationships,
 - you suffer from chronic physical ailments without any apparent cause.

What does a psychiatric consultation look like?
During the first visit, the psychiatrist conducts a thorough interview – in a calm atmosphere, without rushing. The following topics are discussed:
- Your well-being, symptoms and their duration,
 - past illnesses and treatment (mental and physical),
 - your life, professional and family situation,
 - expectations regarding treatment.

On this basis, the specialist makes a diagnosis and, if necessary, proposes pharmacological treatment, psychotherapy or further diagnostics. Everything is done with full respect for privacy and in English.
