This test does not detect the presence of the virus! If you have symptoms such as fever, fatigue, dry cough, and difficulty breathing, this test is not suitable for you!
Any healthy person can take the test to determine if they have previously had the infection.
In case of potential contact with an infected person or the appearance of symptoms, the test should be conducted at least 14 days after contact with the infected person or at least 14 days after the onset of symptoms (provided the tested person is healthy and has no symptoms of infection). Persons with symptoms of infection will not be accepted for testing.
The test can be performed at our clinics in London and Coventry.
To ensure the safety of our clinic patients, blood sampling for COVID-19 antibody tests is conducted only on designated days and times. Patients can also have blood drawn for other tests at the same time.
Patients having blood drawn for tests other than COVID-19 antibodies will be scheduled at different times. Detailed information is available at the clinic's registration or by calling 0208 9034874.
The incubation period for the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) virus ranges from 1 to 14 days, with most cases manifesting symptoms between days 3 and 5. The most common symptoms include fever, fatigue, dry cough, and difficulty breathing. These symptoms can develop into severe acute respiratory illness.
According to the latest data, the mortality rate from this virus increases with age and also depends on gender, body weight, ethnic origin, and the presence of coexisting health conditions.
In most cases, the host's immune system responds to the SARS-CoV-2 infection by producing antibodies within a few days to two weeks from the onset of symptoms. The presence of IgG antibodies allows for the identification of individuals who have had the infection.
However, studies do not clearly indicate whether a person with antibodies will be protected against the virus in the future or for how long this immunity will last.
It should also be noted that a positive/negative test result does not definitively confirm/exclude past infection with the virus because antibodies may not have developed at all or have not yet developed.
TESTING CAN ONLY BE SCHEDULED ON SPECIFIED DAYS AND TIMES.
The tests are manufactured by the renowned international company Abbott, headquartered in Illinois, USA.
